Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Volunteers Honored on NBC

In case you missed it, some of my friends at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California (who I met very, very late in life, at 96) were featured on a segment during the 2012 American Giving Awards which aired on NBC on December 8, 2012.  Their volunteer service to the hospital and its patients were highlighted.

I’ve spent time in the hospital’s lobby listening to their volunteer piano players and found that to be a wonderful way to spend a few hours.  Everyone there is friendly.  I’m lucky to have discovered this new batch of friends so late in life.

To everyone who volunteers, I commend you.  I donated my time when I was younger and feel it should be a part of everyone’s life who is in a position to give of themselves.  Volunteering truly helps.  To my volunteer friends at Cedars-Sinai, I applaud you!
